Meloni win heralds rise of fascism in Italy

As far back as February 2020, the rise of the “Brothers of Italy” party leader, Giorgia Meloni, had become more evident. And just two years later, she’s become Italy’s first female prime minister. Meloni has also strategically used her public addresses to hone in on the economic and “nationalist” concerns of Italians. But her anti-Islam, and anti-immigrant rhetoric during her election rallies provide further insights into a figure that has come to stand for the pro-Mussolini sentiment growing in Italy.
