The occupation by Clover workers of the Industrial Development Corporation in Sandton has ended.

They are calling for the nationalisation of the dairy manufacturer.

The strikers are affiliated to the General Industrial Workers Union of South Africa (Giwusa).

They’ve been on strike since November over concerns of job cuts by the Israeli-owned company.

Workers want Milco to be bought out from Clover.

It’s a consortium led by the Israeli Central Bottling Company.

Workers are meeting with representatives of the Trade, Industry and Competition, and the Labour Departments tomorrow morning.

Workers accuse Clover of refusing to make compromises in relation to their working conditions.
