Another five trucks have been set alight. This time on the N4 highway in Mpumalanga.

It’s understood a group of people stopped the trucks near the Waterval Boven and ordered the drivers to get out. They then set the vehicles and goods alight.

The attack comes less than 24 hours after six trucks were torched on the N3 highway in KwaZulu-Natal. A group of armed men used similar tactics.

The Road Freight Association has said that these attacks appear to be well coordinated and puts the industry at risk. Trucks carry 80% of goods moved in and around South Africa.
