Load shedding could end sooner than expected.

Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says this is due to power generation being ramped up. The minister reiterated that Eskom will resolve the load shedding crisis much quicker than it had expected and the date is within the horizon.

However, he failed to deliver on the specifics. Ramokgopa adds that more than 100 best generation experts from Eskom, government and the private sector have been mobilised.

Over the last 15 years, South Africans have been subjected to routine power outages which has gradually gotten worse.

Since last year, consumers were slapped with Stage 6 load shedding seeing them without power for up to 12 hours. But in recent weeks, these outages have drastically reduced to only two hours.
