Police are probing cases of murder and attempted after four people were shot in Manenberg, where two of the victims were killed.

Three gunmen reportedly opened fire at taxis parked at a busy intersection on Saturday morning. The police’s Joseph Swartbooi says that a 51- and 53-year-old man was declared deceased on the scene, while two other males were rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.

Director of Western Cape United Safety Front as well as an Activist against crime and violence, Roegshanda Pascoe says that the incident occurred at an informal taxi rank set up at Nyanga Junction.

The taxis are reportedly operating illegally on the Century City route.

Meanwhile, in Delft, an alleged taxi driver was also gunned down by three suspects. A case of murder and carjacking is being probed.
