9-year-old shot in Manenberg

Another innocent child has been caught in the ongoing urban warfare on the Cape Flats.

A nine-year-old boy was struck in the head when thugs fired shots in Towerkop Road in Manenberg.

The child was playing in front of his house on Sunday afternoon when he was injured.

Manenberg police spokesperson, Captain Ian Bennett says the boy received emergency medical treatment at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

No arrests have yet been made.

Recently a child was shot and wounded in Hanover Park. It comes as children are on school holidays.
