After two legal battles and a dream that dates back as far as 2007, the Souther Cape Town community of Knysna finally has its own masjied.

The NRA team speaks to Omar Essa, the Chairperson of the Knysna Muslim Council on the struggles and achievements.
He recounts of after the grand decision made at the High Court in 2017, construction started in 2018 and things were finally looking up for the Muslim community. However, when Covid-19 hit South Africa, construction needed to take a halt. However, through perseverance and faith, the project was finally completed.

But with the Covid-19 resurgence upon the country and the Garden Route being declared a hotspot, they have yet to have their official opening.
