President Cyril Ramaphosa has postponed a working visit to Saudi Arabia to focus on government’s intervention in the KwaZulu-Natal flood disaster.

Spokesperson in the Presidency Tyrone Seale says this postponement will allow the president to continue meeting ministers to discuss and plan interventions for the flood ravaged province.

President Ramaphosa says the loss of nearly 400 lives and homes because of the natural disaster, including the economic impact calls for all hands-on deck.

The president adds that government is standing behind the people of KwaZulu-Natal through the provision of social and material support to thousands of households and businesses that were impacted by the disaster.
