MJC Mufti Passes After Covid-19

The Mufti of the Muslim Judicial Council Moulana Tahaa Karaan has passed away. He was admitted to hospital late last month after contracting Covid-19.

According to the organisation Moulana Karaan who is from Strand took up the position after the death of his father in 2015.

Last month several families in Strand were reported to have contracted Covid-19. At least two Imams from the area have died. Mosques in Strand have been closed in an effort to curb the spread.
