Shireen Essop reunited with family after almost three weeks

Police are still investigating the details surrounding the Shireen Essop case.

The 32-year-old Manenberg mother was found around midnight at Klipfontein Mission Station which is located near Philippi. On the day of her disappearance, May 23rd Essop’s vehicle was found in Browns Farm in Philippi. Essop was reportedly on her way home when she was taken.

In a brief statement the family has expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the support they received during these dark hours. They have asked for continued prayers for her full recovery.

Meanwhile Police Oversight and Community Safety MEC Reagen Allen has welcomed the news that Essop has returned home safely and unharmed.

He further notes that the involvement of the Klipfontein Neighbourhood Watch in this case is what is meant by an all of society approach. He adds that it shows what can be achieved when everyone is involved in combatting crime.
