The Mafalala family have bid farewell and buried their loved one, Abongile who was killed in a mob attack in Parkwood.

The 31-year-old e-hailing driver’s funeral was held in his village of Ngudle in the Eastern Cape. On May 31st two gangsters had instigated a vicious community attack on Mafalala after robbing him. They lied about him being involved in the kidnapping of children in the area.

Community members have expressed their remorse and attempted to apologise for killing an innocent man who was beaten, stoned, and burnt.

To date nine people have been arrested for Abongile’s murder. They also face charges related to robbery with aggravating circumstances, and malicious damage to property.
