The KwaZulu-Natal flood death toll has climbed to 341.

Providing an update on the situation in the province, Premier Sihle Zikalala says the latest figures show that more than 40 700 people have been impacted by the floods.

Several homes, roads, bridges, water and electricity infrastructure have been destroyed.

The premier notes that the timing of the floods is indicative of the country living in an ecological imbalance.

He adds that not only is KZN experiencing more natural disasters, but that it’s occurring more frequently.
