Iraqi independence: will the US leave?

In 2003, America invaded Iraq. The pretext; that Saddam Hussein, the then leader, and once a key US ally had weapons of mass destruction. Despite protests around the world, the US and other western powers went ahead with the illegal invasion and subsequent occupation.

Despite claims of wanting to install a government that will bring stability, the US has since played a destabilising role in the country and almost two decades later continues to occupy Iraq. This despite a demand from the Iraqi parliament last year that all American troops leave.

With Joe Biden now in office in the US, can a change be expected and will it be for better or worse?
