The family of 28-year-old Gracious Nkomo has positively identified her as one of the women found dead in the Kempton Park area.

Nkomo was the third woman whose body was discovered along the R21 in Kempton Park on September 10. Police say her body was found partially clothed.

Her identification comes as police investigate the deaths of several women whose bodies have been discovered across the greater Ekurhuleni area in recent months.

Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane says a multidisciplinary team has been deployed to work around the clock to establish the circumstances surrounding the murders and identify those responsible.

Police say investigations are making progress and have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
