Detectives are investigating whether a firearm confiscated in Manenberg is linked to the shooting of a 13-year-old boy.

He was shot and injured on Wednesday in Great Fish Avenue.

Acting on information, members of the Anti-Gang Unit raided a residence in McCrawl Street.

When they entered, a woman was seen rushing to the back of the residence with an object in her hand.

Police say it was later identified as a 9-mm CZ pistol.

It had a fully loaded magazine with 15 rounds.

The 34-year-old suspect faces a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
