The tradition of congregating at Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point on the Cape Town promenade has been upheld for decades. As people prepare for Iftaar on what is potentially the final fast of the month of Ramadaan, picnic blankets deck the lawns with tasty treats, adults wait in anticipation, children run on the grass while the religious leadership is seized with the finer details of verifying whether the crescent moon ushering in the month of Shawaal and the celebration of Eid has indeed been sighted.

Like all previous years, team 786 was out at Three Anchor Bay for the sighting of the moon, bringing listeners live coverage of proceedings.
