Eastern Cape Cousins Nabbed for Brazen Police Station Theft

At least two cousins have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a police station in the Eastern Cape and stealing firearms, ammunition and computers.

It’s understood that two Tyefu police station were attending to a domestic violence complaint when the brazen thieves struck.

A Hawks led team tracked down the suspects after receiving a report that a gunman was randomly firing shots in the Ndlambe administration area. Upon seeing the gunman opened fire and attempted to flee. But was found an apprehended in the nearby bushes.

Upon further investigation officers were led to the gunman’s cousin. The stolen items were recovered.

The pair in their twenties are expected to appear in the Peddie Magistrate’s Court. They face charges of attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as stolen property.
