Cape Town’s tourism industry has expressed concern over the resurgence in Covid-19 cases as they enter their busiest time of the year. The tourism industry has been the hardest hit during the lockdown.

As of Monday, the province recorded more than 10 000 active cases. Cape Town Tourism CEO Enver Duminy says the resurgence is worrying because the consequences will have a dire economic impact on the sector. Duminy adds that the sector would run various campaigns and also focus on the industry’s safety readiness. Last month, the Cape Town tourism sector launched a plan to get the industry back on track after being left in limbo for months.
