A 31-year-old man accused of stealing the Matric Maths Paper 2 has been remanded in custody until January 27th, 2021. Themba Daniel Shikwambana was arrested last week following a Hawk’s Serious Corruption Investigation for the alleged theft of the exam paper.

Shikwambana works for a Johannesburg based company that is contracted by the Department of Basic Education to print this year’s matric exam papers. He appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court with his bail application still pending. Investigations into the leakage are ongoing.
