Cape Town’s City Hall has officially been handed over to Parliament.

The building will now be used for the State of the Nation Address, and the business of the National Assembly until the fire-ravaged national key point is fixed.

Parliament was struck by disaster on January 2 when a fire ripped through the National Assembly. The move to City Hall also brings Parliament that much closer to the public.

City Hall is located opposite the popular Grand Parade. It’s also a stone’s throw away from the train, bus, and taxi commuter interchanges.
