Power Takeover Aimed at Creating Afghan Freedom – Taliban

The Taliban in Afghanistan has told Radio 786 its new government will be representative of all Afghans, including minorities provided they work with the administration.

Senior Taliban leader Abdul Ghani Baradar has arrived in the country and is preparing for talks to formalise a government.

Speaking to Radio 786, Taliban spokesperson Suhail Shaheen says the main aim of the takeover was to achieve Afghan freedom.

The group has already renamed the country the Islamic Emirate and indicated it will implement a system based on Islamic laws according to its interpretation.
