Brackenfell residents and EFF protestors violently clashed outside Brackenfell High School. According to the EFF, they’re protesting over a private event held by the school that allegedly only saw white matric learners attending.
This comes amid matric learners writing their final examinations. This is the second time that the EFF is protesting outside the school. However, disgruntled community members denied any racism at the school.
In video footage, public order police can be seen trying to separate community members and creating calm. However, spokesperson for Education MEC in the Western Cape Kerry Mauchline says the event was held at a private venue.
