Activists demand an end to imperialism amidst US threats to invade Cuba

Activists, and leaders from several labour organisations and political parties gathered outside the US Consulate in Sandton, demanding an end to imperialism.

Speakers condemned the genocidal policies of “Israel”, which is also being supported by the US. The activists gathered as April 17 marks 65 years since the failed US invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs. That CIA proxy force was crushed, and the crowd has vowed that resistance will also lead to the US hegemony.

This day coincides with Palestinian Prisoners Day. Demonstrators also called of the release of Palestinians abducted by “Israel”, especially as they have been subjected to torture while in captivity.

The rally declared: Hands off Cuba, break the blockade, aid to Cuba now. They also showed support for Iran as it stood firm against the US and “Israelis”. Their solidarity extended to the DRC and Sudan, and the plunder of Africa.
