WHO warns Africa about increase of coronavirus cases

Mixed mitigation measures need to be put in place to avoid a second wave of covid-19 infections in Africa.

This is the sentiment shared by the Technical Officer at the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for Africa Dr. Mary Stephen. She warned that Africa is experiencing a resurgence in covid-19 infections as countries relax their restrictions.

Stephen explains that mitigation measures include the general population complying with preventative measures of wearing face masks, social distancing, regular hand washing, and avoiding mass gatherings.
