Three men have been murdered in Makhaza in Khayelitsha. Police say the body of one of the victims was found inside a grey Toyota vehicle in Joe Gqabi Street in Town Two.
About 500 metres away, a second body was found. Both men had multiple gunshot wounds. In Thabang Street, a third body was discovered.
According to the police’s preliminary investigations, the trio were all inside the vehicle when another passenger randomly started shooting at the other occupants. The deceased have yet to be identified.
The motive for the shooting, which was reported after noon on Wednesday, has yet to be determined. Detectives from the Serious and Violent Crimes unit are investigating this triple murder.
