An estimated 20 million cans of vegetable products of the KOO and Hugo brands have been recalled due to a defect.

Tiger Brands says this applies to products like baked beans, peas and sweetcorn that were produced between May 1st 2019 to May 5th this year.

According to the packaged goods company the cans may have a defective side seam weld that could cause the can to leak. The defect was discovered during an internal quality assurance process.

Tiger Brands says to date no health issues have been reported relating to the affected product range.
