Teacher union, Naptosa has expressed its elation that teachers will start getting vaccinated this week. Both teachers and education workers across the country will be able to access the single jab Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Naptosa’s President Basil Manuel says they have managed to get in front of the queue because of the conditions educators work under. He says education workers must seize this moment.
The vaccine rollout to the education sector comes in the midst of the third wave of Covid- 19 and as authorities have ruled out any closure of schools during this period.
Teachers can also opt not to take the vaccine.
