City and Western Cape officials are hopeful that the latest rounds of talks with striking taxi council, Santaco, will yield positive results.

Speaking after this afternoon’s meeting, Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, says that they have put forward a list of proposals to Santaco in the hope of a peaceful resolution to the taxi strike.

The contents of those proposals have not been disclosed.

The taxi strike has endured for eight days, and Santaco had vowed last night to extend the stay-away into Friday.
