A group of Table View High school learners are facing disciplinary action after physically assaulting a black learner after school.
In a video, a group of white learners in school uniform can be seen punching and kicking the black learner. Western Cape Education Department (WCED) spokesperson Bronagh Hammond says during school hours last Thursday, a group of learners broke out into a fight over a packet of chips and the boy who was assaulted in the video intervened to stop the altercation. After school ended, the initial group assaulted the learner who intervened.
Trauma counselling has been arranged for the bullied victim.
