R6.5 million worth of drugs seized in Milnerton

Drugs to the value of R6.5-million have been confiscated in Milnerton.

On Friday, SAPS’s Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) led an integrated operation with local and provincial law enforcement agencies to target identified businesses. Upon arriving at a premises in the City Centre, some individuals fled.

During an interrogation, a foreign national led police to another address in Maitland where they conducted a search of the premises as well as of mobile devices. Their efforts there in turn led them to a container in Milnerton.

Upon searching the container, officers found 28 500 ecstasy tablets, as well as manufacturing devices. Two suspects have been arrested on charges of dealing in drugs.

Once charged, they will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court.
