There is finally an end to the public service wage strike.

Unions and government have reached a settlement. But the terms of the agreement have yet to be made public. Unions were demanding a 10% salary bump, while government offered an increase of 4.7%.

The National Education, Health, and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) has called on its members to return to their posts. Their members have been actively protesting over the past two weeks, impacting services at Home Affairs, and health facilities.

The Department of Public Service and Administration says that the agreement paves the way for the parties to return to the wage negotiations for this financial year.
