Process to extradite alleged kidnapping kingpin to begin

The case against an alleged kidnapping kingpin has been postponed to January 16.

The 50-year-old Mozambican was arrested on Saturday night in Centurion, Gauteng.

Police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe says Mozambican authorities alerted them to the suspect, Esmael Malude Ramos Nangy in mid-2022.

South African processes will need to be followed before he is extradited to Mozambique.

The suspect was found in the possession several Mozambican and South African sim cards, multiple bank cards, and a firearm and ammunition.
