Trafalgar High School declared a national heritage site

Trafalgar High School in District Six has been declared a national heritage site.

The school which is 111-years old played a leading role in opposing apartheid. It was the first high school for students of colour.

The South African Heritage Resources Agency made the declaration after holding public consultations between November and January.
