Potato prices skyrocket over the last four months

The prices of potatoes – a staple food for many South African homes has skyrocketed over the last four months. The average market price for a 10 kilogram bag of potatoes has increased by a whopping 140 percent over the last four months. According to Potatoes South Africa, prices during mid-June this year was 46 percent higher than at the same period last year.
