Opportunistic Criminals Lie in Wait for N2 Motorists – JP Smith

Criminals seem to be increasingly trying to target motorists on the N2 highway. The removal of rubble including slabs of concrete have become an almost nightly occurrence for the City’s Metro Police.

Mayco member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith says most of these incidents occur between midnight and 4am. He adds that the placement of the rubble or concrete has no exact location. But their officers are concentrating their efforts between Borchards Quarry to Symphony Way bridge and inbound between the R300 and the Airport approach off ramp.

Motorists have been urged to be vigilant and not be fooled into thinking that its simply a stone that may have fallen off a truck or it’s there by accident.

Motorists have been advised to find alternate routes when travelling at night.
