In less than a year a US warship has docked in Cape Town.

The USS Hershel “Woody” Williams (ESB) which is linked to the notorious US Africa Command is apparently here for a second time to boost so-called security ties.

The  US military officials are expected to meet their South African counterparts as well as members of government.

The warship’s commander Captain Chad Graham says their frequent stops in South Africa illustrates their dedication to engage strategically and build stronger relations through cultural exchange. He further notes that the visit is also aimed what he calls to promote international security.

However, AFRICOM is involved in deadly bombing campaigns in African countries like Somalia under the guise of fighting terrorism. AFRICOM is used to advance Washington’s interests in Africa as well to counter China and Russia on the continent.
