The number of youth contracting Covid-19 has substantially increased citing concern as South Africa officially reached its second wave. South Africa has surpassed the 6000 mark in newly recorded cases for the first time since the lockdown. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the ministry has informed all provincial MECs to up testing and hospital bed capacity. Mkhize adds that the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) is considering proposals to deal with large parties or gatherings where young people don’t adhere to the health and safety protocols.
