November Fuel Adjustments: Major Relief for Diesel Users, But Paraffin and Gas Prices Rise

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced the latest fuel price adjustments, effective as of midnight.

Both grades of petrol will decrease by 1c per litre. Diesel users will benefit from much bigger cuts, with prices dropping by between R1,09 and R1,19 per litre depending on the grade. However, households using paraffin will face higher costs.

Wholesale paraffin will increase by R2,75 per litre, while the retail price rises by R3,66 per litre. The maximum retail price of LP Gas will also increase by R2,80 per kilogram in the Western Cape.

Government says that reductions in the general fuel levy on petrol and diesel, announced as part of short-term relief measures, helped cushion motorists from steeper fuel price hikes.
