Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane is one step closer to being removed from the position.

This after a long process into whether she should be impeached was carried out in Parliament.

The National Assembly voted on whether to adopt the Section 194 inquiry into whether she should be removed before her term concludes in October.

All ANC, DA, IFP and Freedom Front Plus members of parliament have voted in favour of the move.

This as the EFF has voted against the report.

Mkhwebane’s successor has already been named, with acting Public Protector, Kholeka Gcaleka set to take over the post next month.
