A triple murder has rocked Lentegeur in Mitchells Plain. A woman also sustained serious injuries in the mass shooting which took place in Blombos Street on Wednesday after 11pm. Police spokesperson, Colonel André Traut, says that two of the men were declared deceased on scene, while the third victim who was also shot was found in Eisleben Road after apparently fleeing from the shooters.
He was declared deceased. It’s alleged that four armed suspects in a white Nissan Almera with tinted windows approached the victims and opened fire before fleeing the area. While the motive for the attack has yet to be established, Traut says they are following up on information regarding a possible gang-related motive. He adds that detectives attached to the Anti-Gang Unit are investigating this attack.
They are canvassing the area for possible CCTV footage and witnesses who may assist in identifying the attackers. Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sizakhele Dyantyi has expressed concern over the loss of life and called on investigators to swiftly identify and apprehend those responsible.
