The US government has unleashed an attack on dozens of Iranian and foreign media websites claiming they are spreading disinformation. The US Department of Justice confirmed that it has seized at least 33 websites run by the Iranian Islamic Radio and Television Union. However the attack extended to other sites linked to the resistance coalition in the Middle East. The affected media include Iran’s English news channel Press TV, Yemen’s al-Masirah TV and Bahrain’s Lualua television network. This is not the first time that the US has sought to silence voices that provide an alternative narrative on political issues or challenges the US hegemony in the Middle East.
