The Overberg District and Cape Winelands are being hit the hardest by the latest cold front.

According to the head of the Western Cape’s Disaster Management Centre Colin Deiner it has been a difficult period.

Over the weekend it had to respond to towns which were cut off for days after roads were washed away and damaged.

One of them was Citrusdal in the West Coast District.

He says at least eight tonnes of humanitarian aid was loaded onto helicopters and flown to affected areas.
