Eskom’s chief operating officer, Jan Oberholzer has been cleared from all wrongdoing. It
follows allegations over a payment dispute with contractor Aveng. An employee had lodged a
grievance which led to the launching of an investigation into the matter. The Eskom board says
it condemns the allegations levelled against Oberholzer because it brought the company into
disrepute. The board adds that it has confidence in Oberholzer and will continue to support him.
