A business robbery has been foiled at a supermarket in Langa.
Police officers attached to Operation Lockdown II received information about a planned robbery as well as the description of the vehicle and suspects.
The vehicle was spotted and pulled over. A search resulted in the confiscation of two pistols, ammunition, bulletproof vests and police uniform pieces.
Four people were arrested.
Police say the suspects will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday. They face charges related to the possession of illegal firearms and ammunition and the possession of presumed stolen property.
