The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will continue to protest until President Cyril Ramaphosa resigns.

The party tried to prevent the president from addressing the nation last night at the opening of parliament.

EFF leader, Julius Malema says that he has nothing personal against the president, and will not physically harm him.

He made this comment after the president’s protection officers tackled EFF members when they approach the stage where the head of state was delivering his address.

The EFF wants to hold the president accountable for the Phala Phala saga, and the poor handling of the country’s energy crisis.

The party has given Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa Nqakula 48 hours within which to publicly withdraw and apologise for last night’s events.

Malema says that if Mapisa Nqakula fails to apologise, they will approach the Constitutional Court, claiming that the EFF’s members of parliament were illegally removed from the House.
