Nearly a week has passed since Turkey’s devastating earthquakes.

The death toll has now climbed to more than 28 000 in Turkey and northwestern Syria. More than 3500 Syrians were killed in the natural disaster and are still battling to receive medical and other forms of assistance.

After more than 140 hours after the quake, a seven-month-old baby and 13-year-old girl were rescued. Rescuers are still pulling survivors from the rubble.

Now, survivors of the quakes say they’re clinging on to their last hope that their loved ones are still alive underneath the rubble.
