A Delft housing project may be in jeopardy after equipment at the site was petrol bombed last night.

The City of Cape Town says that two construction machines and some construction materials were targeted.

Security had already been increased at the R 500 million Delft Symphony Way housing project after contractors were shot last weekend.

The City says that it will not tolerate these criminal attacks, community interference, or acts of extortion against its projects.

The housing project is meant for 3 300 beneficiaries, from some of the most vulnerable areas including Blikkiesdorp, Malawi Camp and Freedom Farm.
