Minister for Public Works and Infrastructure speaks to Radio 786

Minister for Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Patricia De Lille has offered to provide clarity on the revised expropriation bill. The law would now allow land to be confiscated without compensation if its unused, abandoned or poses a safety risk.

The Chief State Law Advisor certified the bill as constitutional. De Lille adds that local, provincial, and national authorities will use the legislation to expropriate in the public interest for valid reasons to promote inclusivity and access to natural resources
