Gauteng, the Free State and Northern Cape are experiencing the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the chair of the Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC) on vaccines Professor Barry Schoub the rest of the country is edging closer to this point. However, there has been much debate about whether this wave will be weaker than its predecessors. Also considering there have been other variants detected in South Africa.
