Hajj pilgrims are converging in the tent city of Mina as they begin their spiritual journey of a lifetime.

At Mina pilgrims will engage in their spiritual preparation for Mount Arafat tomorrow. It’s regarded as the climax of the Hajj as pilgrims will immerse themselves in supplication and beseeching their Lord.

A million pilgrims are performing this year’s Hajj – the largest since the Covid-19 pandemic. Majority of them are from overseas while around 150,000 are domestic pilgrims.

Pilgrims have been advised to keep hydrated as temperatures are in the forties.

The Hajj follows a route Prophet Muhammad (Peace upon Him) walked nearly 1,400 years ago and is believed to trace the footsteps of Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail (Peace upon Them).
